A Look Back
As I have been updating my online portfolio, I've been seeing a lot of pictures from past travels and feeling ALL the feels. I have been so, so lucky to see many amazing places in my life. I've been able to check travel goals off of my bucket list and add a few I never imagined I'd see. I wanted to share with you some of my very favorite memories from my travels. One image from each special place.
NYC is one of my favorite places in the whole World.. I love everything about it. I know it's cliche, but it really does have a different energy and is always great for a creative recharge (& we all need one of those every once in awhile). My favorite time to visit NYC is winter - It's so beautiful and even though you have to wear 10 layers, it's still inspiring.
Bogota, Colombia (with an 'O', not a 'U') will always be near & dear to my heart. My husband, Alex, is Colombian so we try to go every few years to visit his family. Visiting Bogota was my first experience with South American culture and just like with Alex, I fell head over heels in love. Everything is so vibrant, colorful, fun - just go.. I can't explain it! Oh, and don't worry - Colombia is safe to visit. I felt safer there than in Paris!
Speaking of Paris... Paris is an absolute must-see if you ever visit Europe. The city is gorgeous and the pastries - worth the trip alone. Paris will always be special to me because, not only was Paris our first international trip together, but Paris is where Alex proposed. I have so many fond memories of the city - it's so romantic!
California is a wonderful place. Living in Las Vegas has been great for exploring the West Coast and I'm hoping to get back to both northern & southern CA soon to focus on getting some great landscapes! The image below is my fave from LA because Alex totally got scolded by a lifeguard for climbing up on that rock formation. The shot was worth it.
Classic San Francisco...
Peru is one of those places I never imagined visiting. One of my very best friends emailed me out of the blue with a one line email - "I'm ready to go to Peru. Let's go.". Of course, I said hell to the yes. Every time I look at my set of images from Peru, these kitties jump out me. I can't stop looking at them!
Tokyo was Alex's dream vacation and I was happy to oblige. Japan is another place I never thought I would visit but I've actually been twice! It's ahhh-mazing. It's hard to pin point just one thing about the city that I love - maybe all of the beautiful details. This display of sake barrels was set up in a small park. I couldn't resist that light...
Last but not least (for this post, anyway) is Venice. Alex & I went to Venice on our honeymoon, so it will always be the most romantic city in the world to me. The city is so beautiful, it's hard to believe it's real. And the sunsets....
I hope you enjoyed this little blast from my past and are inspired to get out and see the World! Here are a few of my favorite Insta memories too! :D
