Things To Do: Las Vegas - The Neon Museum
If you ever make it to Las Vegas, there are tons of things to do, see, eat, experience. One of the very best is the Neon Boneyard in Downtown Las Vegas. It's off the strip (a huge plus in my book) and in an up & coming part of town. If you are interested in history, Las Vegas in general or just want to see some pretty flashing lights, this is the place to go!
Alex and I recently had a date night & decided to hop on a night tour (so much cooler than day tours!). I'm ashamed to say that we've lived in Vegas for almost 3 years and had never been. I'm so glad we finally went! It's such a unique experience that you can only have in a place like Vegas. Here are some of my favorite images!
A few tips for visiting the Boneyard:
- If you are a pro photographer, photography for personal use is allowed but, like with a lot of museums, you can't sell your images. Just go, snap images for yourself & have fun!
- Wear comfortable shoes. The tour is about an hour long, outdoors on gravel & I wore booties - not the best footwear choice.
- Make a date out of it! There's tons of amazing restaurants, Fremont Street & a few other museums in the area. Get out & explore off the strip! Vegas has a lot to offer!
- If you take a night tour & want to use your camera manually, bump up your ISO. That will allow you to use higher shutter speeds in dark lighting situations.
