Eats: Las Vegas - Echo & Rig

One of the very best things about living in Las Vegas is the plethora of brunch spots.  You have the obnoxiously cheap $7.99 unlimited champagne buffet brunch (holla for Main Street Station - Garden Court Buffet!) - the food is absolutely terrible but you cannot come to Vegas without going to at least one awful buffet.  There's also a range of 'not too bad' all the way up to 'errrmehhgerrd, this is amazing'.

First of all, Echo & Rig is one of our favorite restaurants.  Alex and I have gone there for date night or special occasions and have loved every meal.  When I found out they had brunch, we had to try it.

Lucky for us locals, Echo & Rig is not on the strip.  It's in a fancy outdoor mall, Tivoli Village - about 10 minutes north of the strip (totally worth the adventure if you are a visitor).  Once we arrived, we were seated right away.  The restaurant is huge so even though they were very busy, it didn't really feel like it.  We got to sit outside on the upstairs patio, right by the water misters and with a great view of the surrounding valley.

Alex and I both started with a mimosa. We were tended to right away & our drinks came within 5 minutes of us being seated.

Alex ordered the Steakhouse Scramble (see below) and loved every single bite.  Alex is a total foodie (he should really be the one writing restaurant reviews), so when he says something is out of this world, it's usually true...

Steakhouse Scramble: house-made sausage, filet mignon, onions, bell peppers, yukon gold potatoes sweet 100s tomatoes & burrata cheese with scrambled eggs.

I got the simple Eggs Any Style (see below) and I'm getting hungry again just looking at the picture.  It was sooo good - everything was seasoned perfectly.  And I have three words for you: house made sausage.  It's what dreams are made of.  Echo & Rig has an on-site butcher shop, so all of the meats are cut & cured in house.

Alex and I definitely outstayed our welcome - we arrived at 10:00 a.m. & didn't leave until almost 2:00 p.m. - hahah, yeah, we are those people.  However, our waiter never rushed us and kept filling our glasses (probably a bad idea on our part) and in return, we gave him a crazy good tip.  The great thing about Echo & Rig's location is, after your ridiculously long booze filled brunch, you can walk off your buzz in the mall.

As I said above, if you're a tourist - make the 10 minute drive off the strip.  It's well worth it and better quality than most of the food on the strip (without the strip prices.)
